INsight pitch assessment values

These are the criterion that judges will use to assess your pitch. At the least, make one slide for each of these areas and make sure they’ll answer 5-stars to each of the bullets below.


1. PROBLEM

  1. The problem was well presented

  2. I agree it's a real problem


2. SOLUTION

  1. The solution was well explained (i.e., features and benefits)

  2. They explained how they arrived at the solution

  3. I am satisfied with their customer interaction/validation


3. CONSUMER/MARKET

  1. Target market and consumer profile was well defined

  2. Market trends were clearly established


4. COMPETITION

  1. They clearly identified their competitors

  2. They successfully identified what made their solution different

  3. Their differentiators are valid


5. ECONOMIC MODEL

  1. I see how they can generate revenue

  2. They appear to understand the processes and costs associated with producing and selling their product

  3. Their business model is well iterated

  4. They're financial projections are plausible


6. INVESTMENT

  1. I clearly recognize their current stage of development

  2. They appear to understand the process(es) of raising funds

  3. They seem to know how investment will drive them to the next stage

  4. The team understands what an exit strategy might look like


7. OVERALL EVALUATION

  1. The team was enthusiastic

  2. They managed their time well

  3. The presentation was effective

  4. Their field of study in engineering added value to the project

  5. They exhibited an understanding of business issues beyond an engineering perspective

  6. They appeared to have confidence in their abilities to carry the project forward

  7. They appear to grasp what skills are necessary to form a startup

  8. Their team appears to have the variety of skills needed to form a startup
